Rex Riggs announces retirement

Rex Riggs

Rex Riggs, EA, of Riggs Tax & Financial Services, LLC, announced his retirement after providing 35 years of tax preparation service to the area.

The business began as a part-time, personalized tax service with preliminary returns prepared at the client’s home. The final returns were processed later in Riggs’s home-based office.

As the practice grew, it became impractical to continue client “on-site” appointments. Riggs moved his office to downtown Ark City in order to provide a more centralized, visible location.

“Since I’m getting older, I thought it would be proactive to transfer ownership of my business in case of a future disability or death on my part,” Riggs said. “I’m very pleased and confident that the new owner, Scott Terrel, will continue to provide excellent services to my clients.”

Terrel, a CPA with experience in public and private accounting, will continue seeing clients at 100 S. Summit St., in Arkansas City. For more information call (620) 442-1535.
