Those gathered at the Mr. Ark Animal Watch Party at the Thirsty Thursday event on Sept. 19 enjoyed a double dose of community spirit, food and laughs aplenty at the showing of the 2019 Mr. Ark Animal — second generation.

All funds raised at the Mr. Ark Animal event were donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cowley County and The Burford Kitchen Restoration Project. A $1,600 check was presented to Debi Clark, director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cowley County, and also to Ellen Snell, representative for the Burford Kitchen Restoration Project.

The mission of Ark Valley Players is to inspire, nurture, challenge, amaze, educate and empower artists and audiences in order to enrich the cultural life of Arkansas City and the South Central Kansas and Northern Oklahoma area.
