Clinic talk

Taylor Schwartz, the outreach coordinator for the Community Health Center in Cowley County, spoke to the Arkansas City Rotary Club on July 8. Taylor explained the services the clinic provides and the cost structure for patients who are uninsured or under-insured. The primary care clinic has two doctors and a nurse practitioner in Winfield, but has applied for a federal grant to open a doctor’s office in the former Lincoln school building in Ark City. Health Center CEO David Brazil was on hand and answered questions from Rotary members. He said awards for the grant, which is very competitive, will be announced in September.
