Two Wichita women injured in accident

Two Wichita women were injured Sunday night in an accident north of Arkansas City.

Cowley deputies and Ark City fire/EMS responded at 6:20 p.m. for an injury accident involving two vehicles at the intersection of U.S. 77 Highway and the U.S. 77 Bypass.

A red 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Alayna Harris, 18, of Wichita, was in the center lane waiting to cross U.S. 77 when she turned in front of a blue 2006 Chevy Cobalt driven by Julie Kincheloe, 53, also of Wichita, heading northbound.

One driver was transported to South Central Kansas Medical Center with minor injuries and the other to William Newton Hospital with minor injuries.

Witness statements were collected on scene and both vehicles were towed by B&L, of Ark City.
