An Arkansas City business is without a vital tool after their car trailer was stolen earlier this week, according to the owner.

A 20-foot Tommy’s Trailer brand aluminum car trailer was stolen sometime between 10 a.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday from Riverside Auto Body, 31467 U.S. 77 Highway, just south of Arkansas City. Also stolen were multiple car radiators, aluminum wheels and copper.

Riverside is offering a $500 cash reward for information leading to the recovery of the stolen property. The suspects are being sought by law enforcement for criminal damage to property and theft.

The suspects cut the padlock off the gate to steal the property, according to Cowley County Undersheriff Christina McDonald.

Riverside owner Richard Dowler said the business at the moment has no choice but to buy another trailer because they use it on a regular basis to transport cars to and from the shop, as well as for personal use.

Dowler said they tore down a structure not long ago, and the trailer was loaded with scrap materials, which the suspects hauled off along with wheels and radiators.

Two different gates were breached to access the trailer and items, Dowler said.

The trailer does not have a tag and no additional information is known at this time, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Dowler at (316) 258-9999 or call the Cowley County Sheriff’s Department at (620) 221-5444.
