One Arkansas City woman is in custody after a pursuit Thursday night.

A Cowley County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over a white SUV reported stolen about 7 p.m. on U.S. 77 Highway when the vehicle failed to stop, according to radio transmissions.

Deputies chased the Ford Edge through Strother Field, continuing west on 222nd Road. The pursuit was followed 222nd Road until the female driver turned north on 31st Road and led deputies a few miles, then crashed on the west side of the road, half way between 202nd and 192nd Roads. The suspect attempted to run but was quickly taken into custody, according to scanner traffic.

Sheriff Dave Falletti confirmed that Paris Lolar, 25, of Arkansas City was the driver and the vehicle was stolen. She has a long arrest record before this incident, including alleged assault with a deadly weapon, flee and elude and multiple counts of failure to appear in court.

No injuries were reported.
