Women for Kansas Cowley County Chapter is host to Amanda Porter, an English Language Arts teacher at Winfield High School, as the speaker at their July 11 meeting, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Community Council Room at Winfield City Hall, 200 E. Ninth Ave.

Porter will speak on “LGBTQ: An Introduction.” The Winfield Gender and Sexualities Alliance sponsor at WHS, she received the 2020 Human and Civil Rights Award from the Kansas National Education Association.

During this interactive presentation, those attending will be introduced to basic terminology and be encouraged to reflect on their beliefs regarding gender.
