A two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in front of Walmart in Winfield resulted in minor injuries for one driver, none for the driver and passenger in another vehicle, and no citations.

According to Winfield police, a Ford Escape driven by Mildred Sumner, of Burden, was heading south on Main Street when the vehicle turned left into the drive that leads to Walmart.

A Ford pickup truck headed north and pulling a trailer, driven by Brian Hobbs, of Newkirk, Okla., collided with the Escape as it turned into the path. According to police, Hobbs said he had the green light.

Because the pickup turned the Escape on its side, firefighters had to extract Sumner from the vehicle by breaking out the front window. Winfield EMS checked her over and took her to William Newton Hospital with minor injuries.

Hobbs and a passenger with him said they were not injured.
