An Arkansas City woman was not injured Monday night after a man allegedly pointed a gun at her, according to Ark City Police Capt. Jim Holloway.

Police were dispatched at 10:44 p.m. to a residence in the 1300 block of South A Street for a report of a male subject pointing a firearm at a female and making threatening statements.

Officers arrived and spoke with the 22-year-old female, Holloway said in an email. The victim reported she was threatened by a male acquaintance, both verbally and with a firearm. She was not injured. There was also a small child in the vicinity at the time of the incident, according to radio communications.

The suspect left the scene before officers arrived and had not been located as of Tuesday afternoon. It was unclear whether he was traveling on foot or by vehicle, according to radio communications.

The case remains under investigation by ACPD.
