Ibarra allegedly broke into home, attacked occupant, caused criminal damage
The Arkansas City Police Department arrested an Arkansas City man Saturday night after he allegedly broke into a house and battered its occupant.
Blas Orlando Ibarra Jr., 29, was arrested on suspicion of one felony count of aggravated burglary of an occupied dwelling, plus one misdemeanor count each of battery and criminal damage to property.
He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield in lieu of $25,000 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City.
Ibarra remained in custody at the time of this release.
Police were dispatched at 9:22 p.m. Saturday to a residence at 706 S. Sixth St. for a report of a physical disturbance in progress.
Officers learned Ibarra allegedly broke open the front door of the residence and entered without permission. Once inside, he allegedly struck a 63-year-old man in the face and threatened to kill him.
During the altercation, the door was broken and then Ibarra left. He was found across the street and taken into custody without further incident.
A defendant’s guilt or innocence is to be determined by a court of law.
