A Winfield man has been sentenced to 32 months in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated battery for injuring an infant last year in Oxford.
Michael Fraley, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated battery, causing reckless or great bodily harm, on March 14 and was sentenced on June 20, according to Sumner County District Court records. A second count of aggravated battery and one count of child abuse against him were dismissed.
Fraley was represented by attorney Michael Brown, according to court records.
Fraley was accused of breaking the then 9-month-old victim’s collarbone and legs when forcefully removing the child from a bouncer, and breaking the child’s legs during forcible removal from a car seat. Fraley was also accused of slamming the child on the floor, causing a spinal fracture.
The crimes occurred in Oxford, Spencer said.
Fraley was initially arrested Oct. 25 and released on $20,000 bond with restrictions.
