West Poplar Avenue will be closed starting Monday for at least three days so a stormwater drainage culvert underneath the roadway can be replaced.

The Public Services Department will close Poplar between Fifth and Seventh streets beginning Monday.

Residents who live in that neighborhood should plan to use alternate routes.

Any vehicles normally parked in that section of street must be moved prior to 8 a.m. Monday.

Access to the disc golf course at Robert Cox Memorial Park will be available from North Fifth Street.

For questions about this stormwater project, call the Public Services Department at (620) 441-4480.

“Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this necessary stormwater maintenance project,” Public Services Superintendent Tony Tapia said.
