BEST holiday open house set for Nov. 16

During a past BEST Holiday Open House, Xander Sutton tells Santa Claus what he wants for Christmas as sister, Cecilia Sutton, listens.

The Winfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s BEST Committee (Businesses Earning Success Together) has organized a Holiday Open House event for Nov. 16.

Participating businesses will have refreshments and special deals for shoppers. Each participating BEST business will give away $50 or more in gift cards or merchandise. Shoppers will be able to enter to win from Nov. 16 to Dec. 18. In-store drawings will take place Dec. 19.

During this event, shoppers may also grab a BEST Holiday Giveaway stamp card and collect a stamp from each participating business in order to win one of three grand prizes of $100 in Holiday Bucks.

Completed stamp cards must be turned into the Winfield Area Chamber of Commerce at 123 E. Ninth Ave., by Dec. 18. Holiday Bucks can be spent at BEST businesses participating in the Holiday Giveaway.

Participating businesses include: 1025 The River, Bloomer Botanicals, Community National Bank & Trust, Cowley CourierTraveler, Cutting Edge Custom Tees, Eagle Nest, Inc., The Emporium, Ginny’s Gifts, Graves Drug, Grit & Glitter, Home on the Range, The Junk Generation, KWLS Radio, RCB Bank, Snappy Chicks Boutique, Sonic Drive-in, Timber Creek Floral & Gifts, Trunk N Treasures, and Walmart.

Also during this event, families and individuals can enjoy a free horse-drawn carriage ride down Main Street sponsored by the BEST committee and provided by Broken Spoke Dispatch. The carriage will load and unload between Eighth Avenue and Ninth Avenue on Main Street. The carriage will be available for rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Winfield Chamber will have a special visitor on this day, as Santa Claus plans to stop by from 10 a.m. to noon to greet children. Kids will also have the opportunity to do a “cookie walk,” where they will have the chance to win home-baked cookies made by Soroptimist of Winfield. Proceeds from the cookie walk will go toward the Winfield Isle of Lights.
