Women for Kansas-Cowley County (W4K-CC) is host to a presentation by Kansas Action for Children President and CEO Annie McKay at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Winfield Area Chamber of Commerce, 123 E. Ninth Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

McKay’s presentation, “What’s at stake for Kansas kids this fall,” will address the importance of the upcoming election with respect to providing access to high-quality early education, nurturing places and spaces, and routine health care for Kansas kids from birth to elementary school. McKay will lead a conversation about how citizens can use their voices to put kids and their families at the center of this pivotal election.

“We are so glad Annie is able to come back to Winfield,” said Pam Moreno, one of the co-leaders of W4K-CC.

Before joining KAC in June 2016, McKay was the executive director of the Kansas Center of Economic Growth. A Kansas native, McKay has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree from the University of Chicago.

Women for Kansas-Cowley County holds regular meetings on the second Saturday of each month. All are welcome. For more information, contact Moreno at (620) 262-2326 or email pam.moreno@sbcglobal.net.
