The H. L. Snyder Medical Foundation has arranged for Dr. Russell Swerdlow, professor in the Departments of Neurology, Molecular and Integrative Physiology, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, to give a presentation about his research, “Mitochondria and Mitochondrial Cascades in Alzheimer’s Disease” at 4 p.m. Sept. 12 in Mossman Building, Room 101 at Southwestern College.

Swerdlow’s research focuses on brain energy metabolism, the role brain energy metabolism plays in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, and how to manipulate brain energy metabolism.
