Pioneer Area Quilters Guild will meet Aug. 5 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1904 N. Pecan St., in Ponca City, Okla.

Stitch and assist is at 10:30 a.m., with social hour at 11 a.m. The business meeting begins at noon, followed by show and share of quilts and projects. The program will begin at about 1 p.m.

Nancy Giltner will be the speaker with a lecture and trunk show, “My Stars, Etc.” Nancy has been quilting for 20 years and has enjoyed teaching quilting for more than 17 years. She became a Studio 180 Design Certified instructor in 2016, and since then she has focused on the Studio 180 design tools when she’s had the opportunity to teach classes at quilt shops, retreats, quilt bees and guild workshops. She retired from her day job in December 2016 and ever since has been juggling traveling with her husband, spending time with her five grandchildren and quilting.
