Nineteen Winfield Soroptimist members met Nov. 1 at the Winfield American Legion with president Ruth Parman presiding. Carol Shivers was a guest.

Melody Everett gave a short presentation on “Motivation Matters.”

The Yard-of-the-Month will start up again in the spring.

The Terri Lynn nuts have arrived, and the extras can be purchased at the Winfield downtown location of the Union State Bank.

Numerous sign-up sheets were distributed for the community Thanksgiving dinner is Nov. 28 at the Winfield United Methodist Church. This home-cooked meal is free to those singles and couples who find themselves without family on the holiday.

Bunco night is Nov. 16, and tickets are available from all members. The public is invited.

Club members were asked to provide cookies for the Chamber’s Holiday event on Nov. 16.

Diane Williams won the club’s 50/50 Lucky Duck drawing.

The next business meeting is Nov. 15, and the next board meeting is Dec. 4. Both meetings are at noon at the Winfield American Legion.
