Twenty-two members and five guests attended the business meeting of the Winfield Soroptimist Club on Oct. 18, at the Winfield American Legion. Stephanie Nulik presided over the meeting. Guests included Paisley Walker, Brantley Andrews and the three guest speakers.
The program was given by employees of the William Newton Hospital Wound Center: Debbie Stone, RN, Brianne Hankins, RN, and Jessica Sloan, ARNP.
Melody Everett explained the meaning and reasoning of SOLT – Soroptimist Orientation Leadership Training.
Lydia Farley gave a review of the Soroptimist fall meeting she had attended. The club won five awards: Outstanding membership performance, following the guidelines for “on the road to success.” hosting a successful “Dream It, Be It” event, club giving and a Certificate of Appreciation.
Melody will chair Tuesday’s Table on Nov. 12.
Members were reminded that tickets are available to sell for the upcoming Bunco Party on Nov. 15.
Also, plans are under way for the annual community Thanksgiving Dinner.
The Terri Lynn sales campaign was completed and product should be available the first week in November.
The Boss Hog’s appreciation day held on Oct. 16 was a huge success.
Kimlea Woods won the club’s 50/50 Lucky Duck drawing.
The next board meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 30 and the next business meeting will be Friday, Nov. 1, both at noon at the Winfield American Legion.
