April Dawn Slaven and Shaun Albert Killman married in an outdoor wedding on June 15, 2019 at the Stone Barn in Dexter. Pastor Norman Reeves officiated.
A reception was held on the grounds of the Stone Barn.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald Dean and Nikki Lee (Pettigrew) Slaven of rural Arkansas City.
The groom is the son of Gearl Junior and Anita Gail Killman of Dexter.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Ronald Dean Slaven.
The Matron of Honor was Jenna Mae Slaven, of Wamego. Bridesmaids were Heather Slaven, of Chesapeake, Va., Katherine Moore, of Winfield, Misty Killman, of Arkansas City, and Chrissy Killman, of Dexter. Brooklynn Killman, of Dexter, was a junior bridesmaid.
Flower Girl was Mina Rose Slaven, of Chesapeake, Va.
Ring Bearer was Leon Alexander Slaven, of Chesapeake, Va.
The Best Man was Christopher Killman, of Dexter. Groomsmen were Nathan Waggoner, of Douglass, Lonnie Killman, of Arkansas City, and Jonathan Slaven, of Wamego.
The Usher was Micah Norris, of Winfield.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Michael Tapia.
April graduated from Arkansas City High School in 2003 and from Wichita State University in 2013 with a doctor of audiology degree. She is an audiologist for the Department of Defense, U.S. Army, at Fort Hood, Texas.
Shaun graduated from Dexter High School in 2004 and from Kansas State University in 2012 with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering. He has recently been offered a science/chemistry teaching position with the Copperas Cove, Texas, school district.
The couple honeymooned in Honolulu, Hawaii, and now reside in Copperas Cove, Texas.
