Thompsons celebrate 50th anniversary

Dwight Thompson and Lessie Hart married Aug. 23, 1969, at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale.

They moved in 1972 to rural Geuda Springs, where they raised their family. Dwight was a rural letter carrier out of the Arkansas City Post Office. In the summer they baled hay and they have always raised cattle.

After Dwight retired, they moved to rural Grenola to the ranch where Lessie was raised. They continue to raise cattle and bale hay. They attend Belknap Community Church in rural Chautauqua County.

Children of the couple are Cristine and husband, Shawn Noland; Curtis and wife, Peggy Thompson; and Amy and husband, Kelly Jarboe. Grandchildren include Quentin, Lindsay, and Trey Noland; and Kord and Karli Jarboe. Great-grandchildren are Atlas and Wayland Noland.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 17 at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale.
