Udall FCCLA attends leadership conference

Kacey Preston, left, and Dominic Jirak, represented Udall FCCLA recently at a National Leadership Conference and Students Taking Action for Recognition event.

Udall FCCLA attended the National Leadership Conference and STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) Event competition from June 29 through July 5 in Anaheim, Calif. Dominic Jirak competed in the STAR Event Career Investigation SR division, placing 15th in the nation with a gold medal.

Kacey Preston represented the chapter and state as the State Executive Advisory Council President Advisor-to-Advisor.

Each attended breakout sessions learning about leadership skills and opportunities that can be brought back to Udall.

Jirak will be a freshman at Kansas State University majoring in chemical engineering.

Kacey Preston will be presenting what she learned to the Kansas FCCLA Advisors throughout the year.
