The Community Music School at Southwestern College will host an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7, on the lower level of Darbeth Fine Arts on the Southwestern College campus. All in the community are invited to attend.
Current Community Music School students will be performing throughout this come-and-go event. There will also be an instrument petting zoo, a chance to tour the CMS studios, and an opportunity to learn what CMS has to offer families and individuals in Cowley County and beyond. Light refreshments will be served.
CMS is now enrolling students for group beginning piano classes for children 6-12 years of age beginning on Jan. 16. Group piano classes are an excellent introduction to piano. All group piano classes are taught by Marsha Granberry, longtime music educator and piano instructor. Each session will last eight weeks. Ages 6 to 8 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays, and ages 9-12 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.
The Community Music School at Southwestern College offers a wide range of private lessons and classes for all ages. Private lessons are ongoing, and the CMS has openings for all instruments and voice with a wide range of lesson times available. Those who are interested in any of the classes or private lessons that the Community Music School offers, email director Michelle Zakharov at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the CMS website at sckans.edu/cms.
