The Cowley County Special Services Cooperative will host an early childhood screenings for children ages 3 to 5 Jan. 9-10 in Cedar Vale, Dexter and Arkansas City. The screenings are the first step to all district preschool programs for the 2019-2020 school year.

 

Cedar Vale

The early childhood screening in Cedar Vale is 8:30-10 a.m. Jan. 9, at Cedar Vale Elementary School. To schedule an appointment or for further information regarding the screening, call Cedar Vale Elementary School, (620) 758-2265, or Cowley County Special Services Cooperative, (620) 221-7021.

 

Dexter

The early childhood screening in Dexter is noon-1 p.m. Jan. 9, at Dexter Elementary School. To schedule an appointment or for further information regarding the screening, call Dexter Elementary School, (620) 876-5415, or Cowley County Special Services Cooperative, (620) 221-7021. 

 

Arkansas City

The early childhood screening for Arkansas City is 8:30-11 a.m. Jan. 10, at Adams Elementary School, 1201 North 10th. To schedule an appointment or for further information regarding the screening, call Katie, (620) 441-2075, or Cowley County Special Services Cooperative, (620) 221-7021. 

The screenings are at no cost to parents and are voluntary. Parents are advised that all special education services are designed to offer the utmost educational opportunities for each qualifying child, as well as provide assistance and support in the areas of physical, mental, emotional and social growth.

State and federal laws are followed in providing each student with a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.
