More than 350 take part in Health & Human Services Day

In what was one of the largest Health & Human Services Day events ever held at Cowley College, more than 350 people attended the event Wednesday at the main campus in Arkansas City.

A welcome and overview of the day’s activities was provided by Health and Human Services Department Chair/EMS Program Director Chris Cannon. Students then had a chance to explore hands-on displays from area vendors.

Students were also able to tour the facilities at Cowley and meet with current students and faculty. The event concluded with an EagleMed fly-in and a tour of the helicopter.

“It’s great to be able to showcase the high quality, affordable educational programs at Cowley while also connecting students with local high demand/high wage career opportunities,” Cannon said. “Our faculty, staff, and students did an excellent job with the event, and it ran very smoothly even with twice as many participants as last year.”
