Soroptimist International of Winfield has made their selection for their scholarships for the year.

The following awards have been made:

• The Shanthi Samuel Medical Scholarship recipient for 2020 is Rebecca Grimm.

Grimm has been active in sports and high school activities, and has worked at a local chiropractor’s office. She has logged more than 115 volunteer hours at a local school and hospital.

Grimm plans to attend Cowley College to study pre-chiropractic. After Cowley, she plans to attend Wichita State University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in pre-chiropractic, then to Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park for her doctorate in chiropractic.

Grimm is the daughter of Kurt and Kathy Grimm.

The following two students have received the Almedia Greever Scholarships:

• Kenna Biddle graduated from Winfield High School in 2019 in the top 3 percent of her class.

She is currently attending Wichita State University, studying for a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in mathematics. She has held several intern positions that relate to her major. She has also logged many volunteer hours in the past several years.

Biddle is the daughter of Chris and Kim Biddle.

• Isabella Hunt graduated from Winfield High School in 2018. She is attending Southwestern College, studying for a mathematics education major and a minor in psychology. She would like to teach middle school math and possibly move into school administration. She stays active working in a local office and babysitting, along with discipleship, intramural basketball and math tutoring.

Hunt is the daughter of Donovan Hunt and the late Gail Hunt.
