Students in the Cowley College GED Program recently participated in a workshop titled “Emotional Intelligence: Helping Identify and Manage Emotions to Increase Success.”

Led by Cowley College Humanities Instructor Julie Kratt, students learned to identify the components of emotional intelligence along with its benefits, including self-esteem and life satisfaction, healthy conflict communication, empathic listening, and effective workplace interaction.

Students took part in activities meant to help develop emotional self-awareness, effective self-management, and relational management.

Kratt noted, “It was a pleasure to share these principles that can make such a difference in our lives and the lives of those whom we care about!”
