To get into the spirit of October and Halloween, and to get some inspiration for the Mile Marker Review Scary Story Flash Fiction contest, Marlys Cervantes took her creative writing class to tour Ireland Hall with Criminal Justice instructor Frank Owens.

Owens was able to show the group the areas of the building where supernatural events have occurred, tell stories of some of the possible hauntings, and give overall inspiration for stories that they can write.

Cervantes said it was a fun way to head into fall break and get students to write and tell scary stories for this season of the year.
