A community prayer service is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 715 Millington St., in Winfield. The service is sponsored by the Winfield Ministerial Alliance. Clergy from area churches will lead the service, and participants will have an opportunity to present their prayer requests, either verbally or in writing.

When there are so many concerns and so much stress because of the divisions and problems in everyones lives and society, it is time to come together in love and support of each other and to lift up cares and concerns before God in prayer.

As Pastor Brock Brown of Second Baptist Church said, “I believe there are more than enough reasons for a community to convene for prayer. As we begin to inspect our own thoughts, lives and the environment we inhabit, we will find that prayer is not only essential to our faith, but it is essential to living in harmony with one another.”

If prayer is not a person’s practice, they are invited to come and join in the solidarity of seeking peace and hope.
