“Straight Outta Bethlehem,” a children’s musical conducted by LaTonya McGathy and Jennifer Turpin, is at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, 3725 E. Ninth Ave., in Winfield.
The musical is filled with sweet singing orphans who live and serve at the inn of Bethlehem, where there also is an animal choir. This musical will depict the true Christmas story of the birth of Jesus Christ, showing how each individual is important to and loved by God. The two main characters are played by Rena Tran and Aceon McGathy.
Then as part of the worship service at 10:30 a.m., the Cornerstone Christmas Choir will sing the cantata, “Go Sing It!” conducted by Mark Conley and accompanied by Sara Weinert, with narration done by David Barthuly, and descant solo by Chris Edgington.
Pastor Scott Schaefer will then give a devotion from the Scriptures, “Look Up and Sing!”
Refreshments will be provided between the two services.
Cornerstone will have a group of carolers going to area nursing homes at 5 p.m. to sing Christmas carols.
There is a chili cook-off feed at 6:45 p.m., to which all are invited. There will be several varieties of chili, along with all sorts of Christmas goodies. All donations for the meal will support the Cornerstone Power Source Youth Group.
