This year, Winfield’s 39th annual CROP Hunger Walk coincides with the 50th anniversary of the CROP Hunger Walk, sponsored by Church World Service.

Walkers will walk from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 29, at the Pecan Grove on W. 14th Avenue, just south of the Winfield Fairgrounds. Registration will begin at 1:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come walk or run any distance. Strollers, and dogs on leashes are welcome.

Others not walking can participate by donating to individual walkers or directly to the Crop Hunger Walk.

Walkers represent those who must walk for food, shelter or water in the United States, abroad and in the local community. With all of the natural disasters occurring so often any more, a lot more people need help. Twenty-five percent of donations collected remain here to contribute to the Winfield Community Food Pantry and Joseph’s Storehouse in Burden.

Everyone is encouraged to make a tax deductible donation, call (620) 221-1994 or donate to crophungerwalk.org/donate/winfield.
