Veteran honors

Members of the Winfield VFW Post 3544 and Winfield VFW Auxiliary Post 3544 placed 752 American flags, representing the total number of Kansans killed in the Vietnam War, Friday in Memorial Park in preparation for Memorial Day. Volunteers who helped place flags included, in the foreground from left, Mike Vargas, Art Carrillo and Renee Vargas. A total of 25 POW/MIA flags were also placed at the park, representing the 25 Kansans still missing in action in Vietnam.
