One injured in an Ark City accident

One female was transported to a hospital Wednesday afternoon following an injury accident at the intersection of North Summit Street and West Bryant Road.

Arkansas City police and fire/EMS responded just before 1 p.m. to an injury accident involving two vehicles. The driver of a Ford SUV said the driver of the other vehicle pulled out in front of her, she applied the brakes, but it was too late to stop, swiping the front of the vehicle.

A passenger in a small blue Chevy compact sustained facial and possible head injuries from the head visor, due to being unrestrained during the accident.

EMS applied a head bandage and C-collar, and transported her to South Central Kansas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to radio communications.

No other serious injuries were reported.
