Driver flees after train versus truck crash
Arkansas City police are looking for the driver of a silver Chevrolet Silverado after he struck an oncoming train Tuesday night on South F Street in Sleeth Addition. Police and fire/EMS responded around 7 p.m. to the 1000 block of South F Street for a report of an injury accident involving a Santa Fe train and a newer-model truck. When police arrived they found that the driver fled the vehicle, an officer on scene confirmed. According to scanner communications, police were following leads on where the driver might be. South F Street was closed at the railroad crossing for an extended time. More information will be released at a later time.
