Bike rider hits vehicle in Ark City

A male cyclist was injured just before noon Thursday after striking a car with his bike. Arkansas City police and EMS responded around 11:45 a.m. to Radio Lane and North Summit Street for a bicycle-vs.-vehicle injury accident. According to radio communications, the rider was traveling southbound on his bicycle at a high rate of speed after coming down the hill, lost control and struck a turning vehicle. When EMS transported the cyclist, they advised South Central Kansas Medical Center of a possible shoulder injury.
