Area crop producers, chemical applicators and anyone interested in wheat production and agronomy are invited to attend the Cowley County Wheat Plot Tour at 5 p.m. May 22 at the Strother Field Corner Plot, on the west side of 202nd Road and U.S. 77 Highway, in Winfield, followed by a secondary wheat plot at 6 p.m. hosted by Ray Enterprises,1500-15998 51st Road, in Winfield. A chili supper will be provided at 7 p.m. at 5374 132nd Road in Winfield following the tours.

Guest speaker Romulo Lollato, KSU Wheat & Forages extension specialist, will address a variety selections and results for the south-central region as well as a crop status update.

Representatives from partnering companies will also be on hand to discuss varieties and more.

The meal is sponsored by Ray Enterprises, Winfield Crop Insurance Agency and American AgCredit. The tour will be a great opportunity for area producers to discuss next year’s wheat planting options and network with neighboring producers, state specialists, partnering agencies and learn about other topics that may be of interest.
