Johnny L. Stickel, 69, of Arkansas City, went to be with his savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 9, 2019.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel of Arkansas City. Burial will follow in Parker Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established with the Missionary Baptist Church — Briana Fund. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Johnny was born May 4, 1950, in Wichita, to Roy L .and Etta Loretta (Wiltfong) Stickel. He was reared and educated in Wichita, graduating from Wichita North High School in 1968. Johnny married Sandra Cowel on May 14, 1971, in Wichita. The couple moved to Arkansas City in 1980. Johnny was a longtime employee of Twin Rivers Developmental Supports, working as Community Living Area Manager. Johnny was a faithful member of the Missionary Baptist Church and the Cowley County Wood Turners Club. He enjoyed being outdoors working in his flower and vegetable gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Bergquist.
Survivors include his wife, Sandi, of the home; children, Tonya and husband Mark Kendrick, Jeremy and wife Amanda Stickel, and Amanda and husband Mike Evinger Jr., all of Arkansas City; a sister, Rhonda Vardy, of Derby; grandchildren, Casslynn, Sydney, Jared, Jillian, Lillian, Landan and Karston; and great-grandchildren, William and Athena.
