Katherine Mary “Kathy” Walker, 80, of Arkansas City passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, at her residence. Cremation has been effected.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Kathy was born May 9, 1940, to John E. and Ruth (Hanson) Harris, in South Haven. She attended schools in South Haven, graduating from South Haven High School in 1958. After high school, she attended and graduated from Southwestern College.
She married William “Bill” Walker on May 10, 1973 at the Wee Kirk Church in Cedar Vale. The couple made their home in Arkansas City.
Kathy worked as an x-ray technician for William Newton Hospital for several years. She then worked for Dr. White in Winfield as an x-ray technician for 20-plus years until her retirement. Kathy also owned and operated a daycare for many years.
She was the leader of the Campfire Girls for several years, and she enjoyed camping, fishing and bird watching. Most of all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ben Harris; sister, Wilda Crumley; brother-in-law, J.D. Crumley; and a niece, Karen Ann Crumley.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; children, Ruth Bailey, of Arkansas City, Debbie Dinneen and husband, Danny, of Arkansas City; Steve Walker and partner, Scott Noah, of Wichita; and William J. “Bill” Walker Jr., and partner Chris Hutcherson, of North Carolina; brother, Glen Harris and wife, Sue, of South Haven; sister-in-law, Betty Harris, of Arkansas City; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
