Richard “Dick” Case, 78, of Wichita, formerly of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, at Wesley Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Union Graham Cemetery in Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Chisholm Trail Fraternal Order of Eagles 3251. Contributions can be made through the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.milesfuneralservice.com.
Born Nov. 28, 1941, in Winfield, Dick was the son of William and Vera Alma (Wood) Case. He was raised and educated in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1959. He worked his first job as a paper boy for the Winfield Courier. Following high school, he worked at the Winfield Flour Mill before attending Pittsburg State University, where he received his certificate in heating and air conditioning.
Richard married Carol Stecher on April 5, 1969, at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. The couple made their home in Wichita, and Richard began his career as a service mechanic for Fahnestock Heating and Air. He later worked for Condition Air before going to work for Commercial Mechanical, where he remained until retiring in 1999.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winfield, as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3251. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, William F. Case, and a sister, Norma Cislo.
His family includes his wife, Carol, of Wichita; his son, Richard Blaine Case, of Wichita; and numerous nieces and nephews.
