Richard K. Satterlee, 75, of Winfield, passed away Friday evening, May 1, 2020, at the Kansas Veterans Home due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease.
Cremation has been effected. Military committal honors will be at a later date at Star Valley Cemetery near Udall. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.milesfuneralservice.com.
Richard Keith was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Winfield, the son of Paul A. and Mary A. (Parker) Satterlee. He attended school in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1962. He entered the U.S. Army in 1962 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1965.
Richard and Claudia Sue Parsons were married. They raised three children, Bryan Heathcliff, Michele Dian and Robin Ann. They later divorced. Richard worked for a number of years at Boeing and General Electric in Winfield. He also worked as a lake officer at the Winfield City Lake.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Satterlee; and a sister, Janet Karen.
His family includes his mother, Mary A. Satterlee, of Winfield; his children, Bryan Satterlee, of Fayetteville, Ark., Dr. Michele Eckermann, DVM, and husband, Jason, of Harlan, Iowa, and Robin Hoyt, of Wellington; his five grandchildren, Heath Satterlee, Lane Hoyt, Kendall Hoyt, Jarrod Eckermann and Grace Eckermann; and his siblings, Carol A. Satterlee, of Winfield, and Gary H. Satterlee and wife, Peggy, of Winfield.
