John Paul Schuchman, 91, of the Springfield, Mo., area, peacefully passed away at 7:37 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, surrounded by his daughters.
Memorial visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Mo. Burial is at 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 2, in the Newkirk (Okla.) Cemetery.
Memorials are to the American Heart Association.
John was born April 24, 1928, in Newkirk, Okla., the son of Paul and Edna Schuchman. He married Waunita Hits on Feb. 25, 1950, in Arkansas City. They had four children: Steve, Pam, Janet and Linda.
Daddy was a perfect example of how not to let life’s problems defeat you. He never gave up and had a positive attitude. He always welcomed family and friends with a big smile.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his father and mother; his sister, Pauline Bogart; his brothers, Bob, Ronnie and Marvin; his son, John Stephen Schuchman; and great-grandson, Landon Schuchman.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam Shelburn and husband, Bill, Janet Schuchman, and Linda Schuchman; daughter-in-law, Judy Price Schuchman; sisters, Mary Anstey and husband, Bill, Pat Haden and husband, Dale and Lynn Jeanette Riendeau and husband, Roger; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Paul, Adam, Tim, Amy, Jason, Shane, Tyler and Chad; and seven great-grandchildren, Grace, Kylee, Vivian, Maggie, Ruben, David and Dace.
