Harold Kent Whitmore, 71, of Winfield, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 12, 2019, at his home.
Private family services will be at a later date.

Kent was born in Eureka on Oct. 25, 1947, to Harold and Margaret Helen (Davis) Whitmore. He lived in Winfield most of his life, attending Bryant Grade School and graduating from Winfield High School in 1965. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force. After receiving a medical discharge, he returned to Winfield and married Jeannine McCarty. They had a son, Michael Ray, and later divorced. He married Kay Parker of Argonia and the couple had two daughters, Keri Lynn and Shelly Rene. They divorced several years later. He was united in marriage to Cecelia (Johnson) Derr.
Kent loved to fish and deer hunt. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
His family includes his wife, Cecelia Whitmore, of Winfield; his children, Michael Whitmore and Cindy, of Cookson, Okla., Shelly Whitmore, of Winfield, Keri Whitmore, of Winfield, Echo Vaden and husband, Michael, of Dexter, Dale Derr and wife, Shannon, of Winfield, Wonder Beale and husband, Taylor, of Winfield; his grandchildren, Rianna Whitmore, Kristian Yingling, Logan Yingling, Audrey Yingling, Alexa Flora, Jessamyn Perin, Allyssa, Avery and Cecil Vaden, Shelbie, Kaden, Aspen and Sakara Derr, and McKenzie, Lakynn and Braxton Beale; and one great-grandchild on the way.
