Joan Marie Aistrup, loving wife and mother of six children, of Wichita, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 at the age of 85.

Joan was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Dodge City, to Adolf and Margaret (Vogel) Stein. Joan attended St. Anthony Parochial School, Fowler High School and Sacred Heart College. She married Gearld Aistrup on Aug. 25, 1953. Together they raised six children. Joan operated her own upholstery shop from the 1970s until the 1990s.
Joan had a passion for painting, quilting and gardening. She used her gifts to create beauty all around her. Joan served her community as a volunteer at Holy Name School Library, Winfield Hospice, Winfield Community Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, and Winfield Habitat for Humanity.
Joan was loved by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Stein.
She is survived by her husband, Gearld; her brother, Gerald Stein; and six children, Michael (Becky) Aistrup, Patrick Aistrup, Kristi (James) Shea, Joseph (Shelley) Aistrup, SuzAnn (Donald) Rueschhoff, and Robb Aistrup (Nicola Payne); her 12 grandchildren and two great grandsons.
