Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Church of Christ, 2700 N. Summit St., in Arkansas City. Cremation will follow.

Claude Lolar, Jr., 69, was born in Fairfax, Okla., to Claude Lolar, Sr. and Florence (Godwin) Lolar. Claude attended Arkansas City High School. He worked many years for Ark City Packing and Conoco until he decided to return to school in 1992. Claude went to Cowley County Community College studying aviation maintenance. He successfully graduated in 1994 with an Associate’s Degree specializing in Airframe and Power plant. He then began working at General Electric shortly after graduation, where he remained until he retired in 2015.

Claude attended and was baptized at the Church of Christ. He was a man of great faith and had a strong belief in God, taking out time daily to read and meditate on the word. He was known for his huge heart in helping anyone who was in need. Whether it was help with a place to stay, sound advice, or if you just needed someone to vent to without judgment. He was loved by many friends, siblings, and especially his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful father who was always devoted to his family.

Claude was married to Glenda Bradford. They had four children and later divorced. He then married Desiree Cullum. They had two children and later divorced.

Preceding him in death were both parents Claude Lolar, Sr., and Florence Grace Lolar; siblings, Rudolph Lolar and Rose Hall; and three grandchildren; Juwan Lolar and Marquavious and Javarez Harris.

Claude Lolar Jr was called home on July 1, 2019. He leaves cherished memories with his children, Marcus Lolar, of Ponca City, Okla., Kelly Dear, of Des Moines, Iowa, Lisa Lolar, of Kansas City, Mo., Kesha Grace, of Ponca City, Shaunta Lolar, of Ponca City, Champagne Hodges, of Wichita, and Claude Lolar III, of Kansas City, Mo.; siblings, Arnola Gipson, Erma Davis, Ellsworth Lolar, Bertha McKay, Howard Lolar, Mark Lolar, Patsy Lolar, Pam Judie and Frank Lolar; grandchildren, Constance, Dewayne, Mercedes, Marcellus, Erica, Eric, Chelsea, Maleesa, Gimmill and Jamaica, Nicolas, Jakarrah, Malena, Dajunique, Eternity, Vanessa, Aaron Jr., Matrix, Jayden, Makenna, Jayden, Destiny, Brayden, Terrick, Asia, Justice, Karina and Dreamist; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
