Howard A. Hockenbury, 78, of Burien, Wash., passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2019 at home following a long illness.
The funeral service was Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Snohomish, Wash.
Howard Alden Hockenbury was born on Nov. 25, 1940, in Arkansas City to Irwin “Tobe” and Betty (Ziegler) Hockenbury. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in social sciences.
He worked in social service positions in California and Washington state and as a school bus driver in Hawaii and Washington. He loved fishing, hunting and playing chess.
He is survived by his wife, Nita, of Burien, Wash.; his children, Steven Hockenbury, Michelle (Navarre) Hockenbury, Jeanette Hockenbury, Van Alden Hockenbury, and Alicianne (McCarty) Hockenbury; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
