William C. “Bill” Felts, 91, of Winfield, passed away peacefully March 24, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, his family will have a private memorial service.
Memorials have been established in Bill’s name for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and First United Methodist Church of Winfield. Contributions can be made through Miles Funeral Service.

Bill was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Independence, the son of Lester and Leona Felts. He graduated from College High School in Bartlesville, Okla., in 1946. Bill served seven years in the United States Army. After leaving the army as a second lieutenant, Bill continued his education, graduating from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University). While at college, he met and married his wife of almost 70 years, Virginia E. Bryan. In 1958, Bill moved his family to Winfield, where he started Felts Oil Company, owning and operating service stations, then convenience stores. Bill retired in 1990 and moved to his lake house at Grand Lake, Okla., enjoying many years of traveling the car show circuit, winning multiple awards with his beloved cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Bryan C. Felts.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Felts, of the home; sons, Michael B. and wife Lynn Felts, of Winfield, and Neil C. and wife Leslie Felts, of Winfield; three grandchildren, Thomas Felts, of Emporia, Drew Felts, of Winfield, and Kaitlyn Mans, of Winfield; and six great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Carter, of Emporia, and Jayden, Luna, Ronan and Maisie, all of Winfield.
