Ralph Edward “Ed” Lewis, 68, of Winfield, known to some of his family as Butch, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Riley Memorial Cemetery east of Sedan.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family to benefit Ed’s grandchildren’s education. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Ed was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Ashland, to Modena (Adams) and William Jackson Lewis Sr. He was raised and educated in Sedan until his junior year of high school. He graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1967. Ed joined the United States Army on Dec. 12, 1969, and proudly served his country during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 15, 1972.
He married Tina McKee in Sedan on June 15, 1974. After his service in the Army, he worked in the oil fields before starting his 20-year career at General Electric as a jet engine mechanic from 1989 until his retirement in 2009. He was able to travel with his work and enjoyed being able to see the world. Ed also enjoyed coin collecting, reading and tinkering in his shop with all things mechanical.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his family, including his wife, Tina Lewis, of Winfield; his son, Darin Lewis and wife Sabrina and their daughter Ava of Winfield;
his daughter, Vicky Lewis and spouse Bryan Weeks and their children, Lilly Jones, Braedyn Weeks and a son on the way, of Cheney; his brother, William J. Lewis Jr. and wife Barbara, of Westville, Okla.; his nephews, Justin and Troy Lewis and their families; and
his cousins, Bob and Cecile Lewis and their families.
