William “Bill” Raymond Morgan, Jr., 76, of Arkansas City, died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel in Arkansas City. The Reverend Dennis Voth will officiate. Burial will follow cremation. Online condolences can be made at www.rindt-erdman.com.

Bill was born Feb. 17, 1942, in Holdenville, Okla., to William R. Morgan, Sr. and Mona Marie (Dowdy) Morgan. He was reared and educated in Holdenville, graduating from high school there in 1960. Bill later graduated with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education from East Central State College (ESU) of Ada, Okla. He then earned a education administration specialist degree from Wichita State University.
Bill married Phairba Smith on June 28, 1968, in Arkansas City. Bill taught fifth and sixth grade at Adams and Washington Elementary schools and served as principal at Adams, IXL, Lincoln and Washington elementary schools. He retired in 1999. Bill was a longtime member of Central Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Russ Morgan, in 2013.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Phairba, of the home; daughters, Leslie Morgan of Arkansas City, and Allison and husband Jeremy Yost of Ponca City; a sister, Mona Wilkerson of Holdenville; and a grandson, Jacob Russell Yost.
