Isaac Daniel “Ike” Norton, 88, of Arkansas City, passed away Tuesday morning, June 11, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Memorial contributions in Isaac’s name can be made to American Legion Post 18. Contributions can be left in care of the funeral home.
Isaac was born in Arkansas City on March 2, 1931, the son of William and Bessie (Cook) Norton. Ike married Lavena Francis Ratcliff on March 2, 1949, in Arkansas City. A lifelong resident of Arkansas City, Ike worked as a clerk at Safe Way for over 30 years. He was a member and a commander of American Legion Post 18. Ike also served in the National Guard. He enjoyed playing dominos, going to the casino, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lavena, in 2009; and a son, Ronald Norton.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Leclair and husband Ranney; son, Daniel Norton and wife Grace; grandchildren, Danny, Oscar, Ranney Jr., Amanda, CJ, Cynthia and Bianca; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
