Joanna G. (Samford) Stover, 83, lifelong resident of Arkansas City, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Joy Home in Oxford.

Joanna Grace Stover was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Iola, to Joe V. and Lora I. (Smith) Samford. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1954 and continued her education at Arkansas City Junior College. She married Dennis R. Stover on Jan. 29, 1955, in Arkansas City.
Joanna was a homemaker and part-time office assistant at the family business, Samford Stover Agency. Her hobbies included quilting, cooking, home decorating and spending time socializing with family and friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Junior Service League and served on the Arkansas City Planning Commission.
Joanna was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 62 years, Dennis.
Survivors include daughter, Sheri Davis and husband, Bill, of Tulsa, Okla.; son, Tad Stover and wife, Janice, of Arkansas City; grandchildren, Erich Watson, Craig Watson, Andrea Stover and Stacia Aaron and husband, Chris; and two great-grandchildren, Lochlan and Fallon Aaron.
