The gay pride event that will be held at Island park has some churches and organizations supporting it but there are others of us in the community that have other concerns regarding it.  First it celebrates lifestyles prohibited in God's word. Second it disregards the words of Jesus that upheld the old Testament union of marriage was between a male and female.* Third it attempts to rewrite the scripture admonitions concerning sex that will still be in place when our secular society has become history.**

Does God love all of us?  He certainly does. The question isn't about God's love for us but the question is whether or not we really love and honor Him by following His will for our lives. The scripture asks us to “repent therefore and be converted that your sins be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19. Jesus exemplified God's love when He said to the woman found guilty of adultery “I do not condemn you” but He also said to her “go and sin no more." God sees the value of every human being but he also sees our potential when we commit to live for Him.

The gay pride event at Island park will have drag queen shows and with supposedly everything being done appropriately for kids eyes, but beyond the facade of balloons, fun, and games the underlying objective will not be about being kid or family friendly or to honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
